'Around the corner' from the park lies Montbrun-Le Bocage.

Montbrun can be seen from afar by the castle ruins that rise above the horizon.
Not much of interest is known about that castle.

Every Sunday morning there is a 'hippie market', which usually continues well into the afternoon. The character of this market is so different that you really shouldn't miss it. During the Paris riots in 1968, the hippies fought real battles with the authorities. Many of them later settled in sparsely populated areas like the Ariège.
Above all, it is incredibly cozy!

Be sure to also visit the church.
In 1965, late medieval wall paintings with unique scenes were discovered here behind a layer of plaster.

 

The nature in the Ariège is overwhelmingly beautiful. The rolling hills almost make you feel like you are in Tuscany, while in the background you can see the high peaks of the Pyrenees. There are fast-flowing mountain streams, remarkable caves, and beautiful reservoirs.
